Professor Dirk Buyens is the former CEO of Great Place To Work^® Belgium. Dirk is a professor of Human Resource Management and a partner at Vlerick Business School. He obtained his PhD in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from Ghent University and holds an MBA from KU Leuven. He worked as a research assistant at the IR Center in the Graduate School of Management, University of Minnesota (USA). In 2003, Dirk founded Great Place To Work^® Belgium as a subsidiary of American parent organisation GPTW, acting as Belgian CEO from 2003 to 2024. A dedicated expert in organisational structure and design, Dirk has been helping organisations optimise their HR, people management and workplace culture for over 30 years. Outside of work, Dirk enjoys spending time with family and friends.
